One aspect of adulthood to me is being able to identify the consequences of one’s actions prior to carrying out those actions. Social networking stunts maturity. Young adults do not have to face their fears or butterflies when first meeting someone in person; instead they can meet them online. The Internet also allows people to live in dream worlds. Adults don’t face reality. There are so many virtual websites and simulations to make people face peace of mind that they do not have in reality. Once again I do not feel that government has to take action on something so stupid as this. If someone is so unsatisfied with life and wants to play games and surf the Internet until they kill themselves so be it. There will be no solution. People find ways to kill each other and their kids. No matter the restrictions, if the generations do not know how to grow up into mature adults and accept the responsibilities of life, the government will never be able to stop this madness. I feel the cure of this dilemma is going back to the ways of the past where people matured at an earlier age and used their power of reason instead of being irrational idiots.
